OHS Football Win in OT 21-14 Over Timberline

After a slow first half saw Timberline HS edge out to a 14-0 lead, the Bears roared back in the third quarter behind a 97 yard Gabe Downing touchdown pass to Mason Juergens tying the game at 14-14.  The Bears found the end zone twice in the fourth quarter only to be negated by penalties

Volleyball Downs Ridge 3-0

The Bear Volleyball team hit the road for the first time in 2021 and emerged victorious in a decisive 25-12, 25-10, 25-7 over the host River Ridge on Tuesday. Next up will be a rematch with North Thurston after a five set thriller earlier in February.

Oly Girls Soccer Defeats River Ridge

The Olympia girls soccer team finished round one of the pandemic shortened season with an 10-0 victory over River Ridge on Tuesday. Goals by Katelyn Rigg (2), Grace Wilhelm, Olivia O’Haver, Genevieve Tedder, Landrey McCann, Addie Clark, Lyv Heistand, Maya Murphy and Kenadi Schreiner

Boys and Girls XC Defeat Timberline in Opening Dual

After being delayed a week due to snowmageddon 2021, the sun shined brightly on the Olympia HS Cross Country teams making their debut on Saturday against Timberline.   The boys won 18-43 behind the pace setting effort of Ethan Coleman’s 16:55 mark.  While the girls Anna Draught lead the team with a 24:18. Oly Soccer defeats Capital

The Oly Bears girls soccer team traveled Thursday to the westside to take on friendly foe Capital HS.  The Bears managed five goals from Katleyn Rigg, Haelynn Kim, Kate Murphy, Emma Hays, and Claire Fleckenstein to down the Cougars 5-1. Capital Downs Oly in Five

Fun night of volleyball with two teams very familiar with each other as Olympia hosted Capital in their first test since the snow storm closed both programs down.   The CHS Cougars won 25-16, 25-21, 24-26, 20-25, 15-6.  The Bears fought back a match point in the third set to extend it the distance.

Lady Bear Swim Win Season Opener vs Timberline

The Lady Bears swimmers had an impressive win over Timberline 139 to 36. OHS made 12 individual District Time Standards while capturing first in eleven of twelve events.  Individual double winners included Seniors Capt Lauren Wilson and Emerson Moore.  Other individual firsts were mastered by Carrisa Putt, Margaret Otto, Jenny Jang and Takara Putt. OHS Downs Tornados 3-0

OHS defeated Yelm HS 3-0 on Tuesday with goals from Kate Murphy, Katelyn Rigg and Sara Boatright (see video).  The Bears moved to 2-0 after the weekend was disrupted by the 15 inch snow storm.  Next up a battle with cross town rival Capital HS on Thursday at 7:00 pm
